Users and User Stories
Provides use cases and user stories for the library bill tracking dataset.
As a member of a library advocacy group, I want to track current and past bills that threaten to defund or criminally charge libraries and librarians so I can provide services that support library professionals.
As a policymaker at the state level who supports libraries and intellectual freedom, I want to compare the language and progress of library- and intellectual freedom-related bills in states other than my own to inform the way I write and advocate for legislation and to determine what types of legislation might be likely to pass in my state.
As a librarian living in a state affected by state-level library legislation, I want to keep track of legislation and outcomes in my own state to know how my work may be affected and keep ahead of legislative trends in other states that might have downstream effects on my library.
Users of this dataset can track the progress of legislation through state legislatures, including tracking sponsors, bill titles and content, and a timeline of the individual actions taken on each bill. The data are organized by state, allowing for comparisons among different states' library legislation.
