Describes the license attached to the datasets in the Library Bill Tracking repository.
Works of the United States federal government are, by default, in the public domain, so that citizens are guaranteed the ability to access their own laws. The same does not necessarily apply to state and local legislation, but in keeping with the spirit of this policy, all data in the Library Bill Tracking repository are licensed under CC0, unless a state government releases their legislation under a stricter license, in which case said stricter license will apply only to datasets containing bills from that state government.
